No-Contact Pickup/Return Appointments

We are excited to offer contactless hold pickups and returns beginning on June 22nd! 

At this time, hold appointments are limited to North Haven residents only, with 5 holds per library card per day. If you would like to pick up multiple holds for family members in the same household at one appointment, please call the library at 203-239-5803.

The library and bookdrop remains closed at this time.  If you have items you wish to return, please make an appointment.  All items have been renewed through August 1st, and no fines have accrued during the library's closure. No donations will be accepted until further notice.

Please note: Staff will be scheduling appointments for holds that weren't able to be picked up before the library closed first. All other hold pickup and return appointment scheduling starts on Friday, June 12th.

HOW TO PLACE YOUR HOLD:

  • Place holds on items through the library's catalog or call the library 203-239-5803. (The hold function through the catalog will not be available until 6/12/20)

  • Search for your title/author/keyword. On the results page, click on the  "AVAILABLE NOW" tab
    (The LION tab is highlighted, the Available Now tab is 2 tabs over to the right). This tab will show items currently on the shelf in the North Haven library. 

    • Select only items showing the green "On Shelf" for North Haven in the results list.  

    • Click the Place Hold button to place your hold.

  • ​​​Holds and deliveries from other LION libraries are NOT being fulfilled yet.  

    • You may still place holds for items at other libraries, but they will not be fulfilled for awhile.​​

SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT

Starting on June 12th, click on the form below to schedule your appointment or call the library
203-239-5803. Apppoinments are available in 10-minute increments.

  • Click on :

    • Pick Up (With or Without Return) 

      • You may return items during your pickup appointment.​

    • OR click Return Only

  • Select the day and time for your appointment​, click Continue

  • Enter your First Name, Last Name, Phone number, Email address and Library Card Number, then click Complete Appointment.

    • You will get a confirmation screen. 

    • You may click the buttons to add to your calendar if applicable.​

    • You will also receive an email reminder.

PICK UP HOLDS & RETURN ITEMS

Although this is a socially distanced, no-contact appointment, masks are still required. Please adhere to your 10-minute timeframe.

PICKUPS:

  • Go to the library's parking lot entrance and enter the vestibule via sliding doors.

  • On the shelf to the right, grab your hold bag, shelved by time slot, with your name on it.  

    • Your items are already checked out to you.

    • Please take the bag with you and DO NOT leave it at the library.​

  • Exit via double doors. OR if you have items to return, please see below.​

RETURNS:

  • Go to the library's parking lot entrance and enter the community room via the vestibule through double doors.

  • Go to the table marked with the current date.

  • Place your return items on this table in a neat pile. They will remain there for a quarantine period during which no fines will accrue.

  • Exit via main entrance through sliding doors.
