Visiting the Library During COVID-19

Donations: The library is NOT accepting book donations at this time.

The Library is now OPEN for walk-in visits

HOW IT WORKS:

  • You may walk in to visit the library during open hours, no appointment necessary

    • Visitors must check in at desk in lobby as the number of people permitted to enter the building is limited.

      • Visitors must take a number when they check in.

      • Visits are for a maximum time of 60 minutes. (Less if visit is within the hour of library closing time.)

  • Masks required upon entry and must remain on during your entire visit.

  • Hand sanitizer use required upon entry.

  • Social distancing must be practiced.

10:00 am - 12:00 pm & 2:15 pm - 4:30 pm

Wednesday
10:00 am - 12:00 pm & 2:15 pm - 6:30 pm 

The library is closed daily between 12:00 pm & 2:15 pm for deep cleaning.

Computer Use by Appointment Only

Hold Pickups, Grab & Go Pickups, & Contactless Returns Continue

HOW IT WORKS:

For Pickups:

  • You may pick up holds at the 1st floor circulation desk during open hours.

    • You must check in a the desk in the lobby and take a number.​

  • Masks required upon entry and must remain on during your entire visit.

  • Hand sanitizer use required upon entry.

  • Social distancing must be practiced.

For the Contactless Grab & Go Service:

  • Call the library  at least 15 minutes before your planned arrival

  • IF YOUR ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE HOLD SHELF, we will check them out to you, bag them, and put them on the pickup rack in the vestibule within approximately 15 minutes.

    • Please note that the library pulls holds each morning for items located in the North Haven library.

    • Please allow a minimum of 24 hours for staff to pull holds.

  • Masks required upon entry and must remain on during your pickup.

PLEASE NOTE for Grab & Gos:

  • Some holds are filled by other libraries within the LION consortium and may not be available right away.

  • To ensure that you will have items to pick up, please wait for notification from the North Haven library that your items are available. 

  • After you receive notification that your holds are available, you still need to call the library before coming to pick up your holds.

    • This will allow the staff to confirm your hold and time to prepare your items for pickup (during open hours).

For Returns:

  • You now may return items anytime during our open pickup times without an appointment. (see hours below)

  • Bring items into community room and place on table marked with date.

  • Masks required upon entry and must remain on during your return.

  • Social distancing must be practiced.

 

Book Drop:

  • The outside book drops are now OPEN on Saturdays & Sundays

    • The book drop will remain closed Monday-Friday to allow time to quarantine returned materials.

  • Inside book drops remain closed.​
