Visiting the Library During COVID-19

The Library is open for in-person browsing & computer use by appointment

  • North Haven Memorial Library will be opening for walk-in browsing  and computer-use by appointment beginning on April 5th.

  • Browsing visits will be limited to 30 minutes or less, and no studying or long-term visits will be allowed at this time.

  • Computer use will be 45 minutes, by appointment only.

  • We appreciate everyone's efforts with wearing masks above your nose and adhering to proper social distancing. Both practices will continue to be required for all visitors entering the library.

    • (This includes wearing a mask when picking up Grab & Go items and returning items to the community room).

  • The library will continue to offer Grab & Go pickups.

    • Haven't used this service yet? See the box below.

  • Once the library staff is fully vaccinated, we anticipate being able to ease restrictions and allow longer visits to the library.

  • In the meantime, the library staff remains hard at work, and we are excited that we can see you in person again!

Grab & Go Pickups & Contactless Returns still available

HOW IT WORKS:

For the Contactless Grab & Go Service:

  • Call the library  at least 15 minutes before your planned arrival

  • IF YOUR ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE HOLD SHELF, we will check them out to you, bag them, and put them on the pickup rack in the vestibule within approximately 15 minutes.

    • Please note that the library pulls holds each morning for items located in the North Haven library.

    • Please allow a minimum of 24 hours for staff to pull holds.

  • Masks required upon entry and must remain on during your pickup.

  • Grab & Go service ends 15 minutes before closing.

PLEASE NOTE for Grab & Gos:

  • Some holds are filled by other libraries within the LION consortium and may not be available right away.

  • To ensure that you will have items to pick up, please wait for notification from the North Haven library that your items are available.

  • After you receive notification that your holds are available, you still need to call the library before coming to pick up your holds.

    • This will allow the staff to confirm your hold and time to prepare your items for pickup (during open hours).

For Returns:

  • You now may return items anytime during our open pickup times without an appointment. (see hours below)

  • Bring items into community room and place on table marked with date.

  • Masks required upon entry and must remain on during your return.

  • Social distancing must be practiced.

Book Drop:

  • The outside book drops are now OPEN DAILY.

  • Inside book drops remain closed.
